Crystal’s interest in food started with Saturday episodes of Yan Can Cook and Christmas-time tamale making with her family. She moved to Chicago in 2005 after finishing her MBA at Texas Christian University and challenged herself to create new recipes and make friends through Sunday dinners at her apartment. After returning to Fort Worth a year later, she decided to take her passion for food a step further by attending the Culinary School of Fort Worth where she graduated in 2009. It was during her time there that she began publishing Fort Worth Foodie magazine in an effort to highlight independent restaurants that make Fort Worth a unique place to live and dine.
Although the last issue was published in 2013, she has kept Foodie followers updated through social media and continues to satisfy her appetite to get involved in Fort Worth’s food scene by serving as the the Volunteer Chair for the Fort Worth Food + Wine Festival. Crystal hopes to use the Fort Worth Foodie site not only to share the flavor of Fort Worth, but to connect foodies to ways to give back in our community through Foodie Forward.
